Dr. Keith Sutton works with adolescents and adults providing individual, family, and couples therapy and psychological assessments.  He combines his training in cognitive behavioral therapy, family and couples therapy, and neuropsychological assessment in order to work with clients on the micro level of neurology to the macro level of working with the individuals and systems within the client's lives.  His warm, straight forward manner and focus on using strengths to overcome weakness helps clients to feel safe and understood in the therapy.  He provides both brief therapy and long-term therapy.  www.drkeithsutton.com     
 
James Keim, MSW, LCSW - Oppositional Clinic Director 

James Keim, MSW, LCSW, is a psychotherapist, author, and clinical supervisor who specializes in therapy for oppositional-defiant difficulties. He is co-author of one book and a contributor of chapters to eight others on topics including family therapy, child and adolescent behavior disorders, and marriage therapy. He previously served as Director of Training for Jay Haley at the Family Therapy Institute of Washington, DC, worked at the Mental Research Institute in Palo Alto, and directed a small conference series, including the conference Oppositional Youth, which was hosted at the Bethesda campus of the National Institutes of Health.  www.strategicfamilytherapy.net

 

Meredith Porter, M.A. - Institute Psychotherapist

Registered Psychological Assistant (P.S.B. 34921) under the supervision of Psychologist W.Keith Sutton, Psy.D.

Ms. Porter works with individual adults, couples, and families. Prior to joining the IAP staff, Ms. Porter has worked in hospital settings, residential facilities, and community clinics aimed at helping people afford mental health care. Ms. Porter's style and treatment methods are strengths-based, cognitive behavioral, and dynamic - a combination unique to each client. She specializes in helping clients overcome addictive substances, eating disorders, anxiety, and depression. Ms. Porter also works with men and women working to achieve balance in relationships, whether that means finding happiness in a partnership or seeking solace in solitude. Ms. Porter is a Doctoral Candidate at the Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA. A sliding scale fee may be available for clients in need.
